New Year’s resolutions can be hard to keep. After all, how can you predict where your life will take you in 3, 6, or 12 months? Instead of setting themselves up for potential failure, people are moving away from resolutions and focusing on intentions instead, often in the form of a “word of the year.”
A “word of the year” is a word you pick to represent your mindset moving into the new year. New Year’s wishes are usually shared until the end of January; therefore, if you are forgoing resolutions, you have a few weeks to decide on your word — one that best describes the energy that you are going to channel every month of this new year.
This week, during our weekly sales meeting, the director of Global Sales and Acquisitions, Sandra Carvalho, shared with our extended leadership team what she envisions as WestCMR’s word of the year. She called for the entire team to strive for consistency in 2021 – consistency with each other, in our expectations and accountability, consistency for our strategic accounts, in our follow-ups, and the delivery of our service.
After a year like 2020, we learned that there are so many things we cannot plan. Consistency will be the key to keeping all our stakeholders on the same page as we navigate the unknown waters of a new year respectfully and efficiently.
As we all commit to our word of the year, for ourselves, for our team members, and for our suppliers and customers, we’d like to know what your word will be. Share it with us!
