If you’re a regular reader of our blog, you know we are a company that is big on civic pride and community service. That’s why we have an annual tradition of giving away flags to other area businesses on Veterans Day. Our team of volunteers looked for locations that might want or need a new American flag. Here are some of the photos we took last Thursday, along with feedback from the team.
“For me, giving out flags yesterday was a patriotic and meaningful experience. Being a veteran, I understand the impact of recognizing of Veterans Day. and what it means for us living here today. It’s about honoring the sacrifices necessary to keep this country free. I don’t take it for granted. Passing out flags to businesses that had empty flag poles or damaged flags is a way to serve again. We helped by spreading patriotism and recognition of our veterans.
Growing up, I remember 99% of businesses flew American flags. Now they are becoming harder to find. A flag is often the last thing maintained or replaced. Yet, it represents veterans’ sacrifices and our country’s values. It’s sad to see flagpoles bare or with tattered flags. I was glad to be a part of giving back and helping to instill some pride and patriotism into the community.” DJ Byers, Inventory Operations Specialist
“It was fantastic to honor our veterans while building relationships with other local businesses. As we gave out flags, I realized that I haven’t paid close attention to the condition of the American flags I pass each day. It’s a reminder to me that we must pay attention to how we maintain our national symbol.” Brian Chase, Business Development Specialist
“With where we are at today as a country, we must not lose any hope or anticipation of moving forward and up. This Veterans Day tradition reminds us that we should never lose our patriotic pride. We are fortunate to wake up every day in this magnificent country. This project that Randy has started is a reminder that we are one people. Giving out these flags reinforces this idea and reminds us to support one another. Together we can see more future prosperity.” Alex Aponte, Business Intelligence Specialist
“I enjoyed showing our patriotism and helping businesses show theirs with new flags. This is a meaningful way we can help serve the community and veterans.” Jeff Griffith, Business Development Specialist
